Trainvac’s commitment to developing innovative and sustainable sanitary solutions for trains has earned it the support of the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund. The fund will contribute towards financing the groundbreaking work that Trainvac is undertaking with its advanced vacuum toilet system.
Trainvac’s aim with this development project is to become both the cost and performance leader in the industry through innovation that will give its customers an edge in passenger satisfaction. Trainvac believes that “a significant technological leap is required to ensure that systems and products can be supplied to the railroad industry from Germany in the long term.”
To this end, Trainvac’s R&D activities are aimed at optimizing and reducing the life cycle costs of sanitary systems. The company is confident that it will achieve this by consistently improving availability, reliability, maintainability and sustainability of every aspect of its offering. It plans to do so through research and innovative enhancements in the following areas:
- Intelligent condition monitoring and performance control
- Reduction of product costs
- Innovative fire protection concepts
- Reduction of water consumption
- Configuration Management
The two-year development project will run until May 2022.
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) has a strong focus on four key priority areas: Research and Innovation, Digital Economy, SME Competitiveness and Low Carbon Economy.
Trainvac has clearly ticked all the right boxes.
